About Kevin Murphy
My name is Kevin Murphy and I have been a Humanist celebrant since 2005. I live just outside Barnstaple in the beautiful North Devon countryside and am married with four grown-up children and a grandson.
For many years I have been involved in event management using skills which I now find useful in creating meaningful, structured ceremonies. I am an experienced public speaker in front of groups large and small as well as on radio and television. I have also worked in schools and as a counsellor, a rewarding experience in itself.
I enjoy my ceremony work enormously, whether joining with parents in welcoming a child into this world, working with a couple to prepare a wedding ceremony that they will always remember or helping a family say an appropriate goodbye to a loved one. I feel so privileged to play a part in significant events in people’s lives.
I have conducted ceremonies throughout the Southwest of England as well as in France and Spain. While not fully fluent in them, I speak Spanish, French, German and Italian.

I have lived in Devon for the last 40 years and enjoy golf, languages, gardening, walking, meeting people and European travel.
